Ivan Matić is a senior legal expert in filed of brand protection and intellectual property enforcement with over 20 years of experience working across public institutions and leading intellectual property firms in Serbia and Eastern Europe.
He specializes in anti-counterfeiting strategy, trademark enforcement, and cooperation with law enforcement authorities to combat illicit trade.
His work covers supporting international clients in protecting their intellectual property rights which includes coordinating with customs authorities, police, and market inspectorates on surveillance operations, seizures, and the destruction of counterfeit goods.
Ivan served as a Senior Associate at two prominent intellectual property firms in Serbia and the region. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Customs Inspector within the Serbian Customs Administration's Intellectual Property Protection Department, where he handled detentions of goods suspected of infringing intellectual property rights and coordinated enforcement actions with rights holders and government authorities.
In addition, Ivan regularly delivers training and presentations to customs officers, police, and market inspectors.
